[li] Chainsword - Something of a signature weapon with in the Imperial Guard and in the Space Marines. The chainsword is very literal in the sense of its name. A blade of teeth that came be activated with a push of an ignition button. The user must keep revving the weapon with a lever in the hilt to keep the thing running. Even a minor wound from a chainsword can be devastating. Completely tearing apart armour and flesh alike with its row of jagged metal teeth. A chainsword, like the bolter, is a symbol of the Imperium and highly regarded as an ideal weapon of war.

[/li][li] Close Combat Weapon - Essentially a jumbo sized Bowie knife. A Space Marine close combat weapon is generally a large dagger used by scouts and Battle-brothers alike. Where a Space Marines close combat weapon would be a dagger to him it would be a sword on a standard human guardsmen. Close combat weapons are generally used where a chainsword would seem inappropriate. Due to their inability to produce noise and light weight. Battle-brothers generally keep their knives for both the practical value and combat potential.

[/li][li] Power Fist - Heavy, powerful and common with squad leaders and commanders. Power fists are used by sergeants mostly and are not available to anyone below that rank. In the Imperial Guard a sergeant will rarely take one but it is common place amongst officers. Power fists are capable of destroying tanks and other vehicles in the enemies arsenal. Unfortunately it is cumbersome and makes up for lack of speed with power. Versions of this weapon include talons, mitts and gloves. Even on a Space Marine it causes a severe strain on flexibility and speed. Power fists are sometimes fitted with storm bolters.
Note: Considered heavy weapon and can only be taken with pistol or close combat side arm!

[/li][li] Power Weapon (upgrade) - Power weapons come in a wide variety. Axes, swords, maces and just about any other melee device possible. A power weapon can break through another’s armour and damage the wearer greatly. Although the device doesn’t effect the users strength characteristic like the power fist does. Plus it is unable to damage a tank unless in the hands of a very powerful individual. However it will cut through unarmoured opponents in droves and will cause fear as it crackles with energy.
