Ranged Heavy Weaponry
- Grenade Launcher - A hardy weapon of the Imperial Guard that can always be relied upon when in a jam. The standard Grenade Launcher will also be a common choice for a guardsmen Regiment to take into battle as it is a ‘jack-of-all-trades’. Capable of firing both a fragmentation ammunition and a tank busting krak round makes it ideal for all kinds of combat. Fragmentation rounds are typically used against bunched infantry as it unleashes a lethal explosion of shrapnel. Krak rounds are made for punching into enemy light armour and exploding within.
A Grenade Launcher may be carried by one individual making it a very common weapon for a Guardsmen. Although rarely will there ever be more than three in a platoon.Single Shot / 1 Dice per Action Roll

Krak Shells -3 on Shooting at Vehicles Chart - Plasma Gun - An ancient technology that has been lost to the ages. Plasma guns are a slowly dying breed of firearm and will rarely be seen being a guest on the battlefield. This is both because of its scarceness and the unfortunate design flaw of the weapon. Plasma guns, as well as pistols, are prone to overheating and exploding in the user’s hands. As a result this leads to few troopers being able to fully master the weapon and many more being fried or maimed. Surprisingly though, the Plasma Gun is extremely potent when it comes to taking out armoured units, and tanks. Single Shot / 1 Dice per Action Roll

Crippling Wounds -upgrade to- Kill Shots - Meltagun - Many Regiments carry meltaguns as a weapon of choice for taking out tanks. The method in which the weapon is effectively used against tanks is a little questionable however. It entails running up to a tank, getting a clear sight on a vital point and striking it with a shot from this weapon. Meltaguns are hardy, reliable and can be very useful against armour when placed in capable hands. Unfortunately it isn’t very effective against numerous targets and would only be handy against a single, heavily armoured infantrymen.Single Shot / 1 Dice per Action Roll
Damage Vehicles if in Close Proximity - Heavy Flamer - Stronger than the regular flamer. The heavy flamer is capable of melting the flesh from a mans bones in seconds. Unfortunately it is much larger than the average flamethrower and requires a man of considerable strength to carry alone. Only those going into situations where this weapon is required, ie storming a fortification or clearing a room. The fuel system of the heavier flamethrower is two large canisters on one’s back. This fuel is fed through a hose and into the primary gun. Where it is brought through the weapon and out the nozzle which is then ignited by a small torch just below the barrel.
Often times, Regiments dedicated to fighting in the city will use this as a Regimental heavy weapon of choice. As it is the ideal weapon for clearing fortifications. Unfortunately should the gas tank be shot with a las round it is prone to igniting. Sometimes the ignition of this weapons fuel source can lead to disastrous results for those standing around it. Be wary when wielding the flamer for it can deal a harsh blow both to the enemy and oneself.Single Burn / 2 Dice per Action Roll
Crippling Wounds -uprade to- Kill Shots - Heavy Stubber - Often times this particular weapon would be pintle mounted on top of a tank. But many guardsmen choose to take these machine guns and lug then across the battlefield. Using it to provide a blistering amount of covering fire and support to allies. Usually the ammunition runs out quickly and another man will follow, lugging the extra bullets for the user. As with the Grenade Launcher there are numerous types of ammunition for the heavy stubber. Armour penetrating shots, anti-infantry and some others. Squads frequently take these weapons for their punishing rate of fire.Multiple Shots / 3 Dice per Action Roll
No Effect - Bolter - Better known simply as the ‘boltgun’. Sometimes a holy weapon of the Adeptus Astartes falls into the hands of a Guardsmen or it is issued as a heavy weapon. Capable of firing fist-sized bullets the bolter is a tough weapon to put down. Threatening against both armoured and light vehicles. Bolters come in a variety of designs. Sickle clips, drum clips and straight clips are all common place. Guardsmen often place kill markings on the weapon and adorn it with personal icons of significance.
